What a sweet treasure this piece is -~~~~ Edwardian era rhinestone hair comb with a cut-out aluminum head and faux tortoiseshell tines. .. the metalwork with the clear rhinestones and open filigree design suggests an Art Deco or Edwardian era style, typically dating from the early 1900s to 1930s.
The ornate top is likely made of an alloy or aluminum, set with glass rhinestones.
The 2 tortoise shell prongs are a form of early plastic such as celluloid or cellulose acetate, which was commonly used for hair accessories during that period. used to secure a chignon, bun, or a French twist hairstyle.
